Imagination is a strange and wonderful part of our personal worlds. We all have it, and we all experience it. There are times we imagine scenes of grandeur that bring hope and expectation. In other moments, our imagination takes us down dark roads or unnecessary battles.
Nonetheless, imagination is part of our personal worlds and one that has created for me the beginning of a new journey to connect with the dearest person in my life.
My struggle has been finding a way to connect with Jesus and go to a deeper place with him. We have those seasons where we are, isn’t going to cut it in the future. As I've said, we can’t live tomorrow on yesterday's God. How we knew God in the past won’t take us into the future. We need new revelation and understanding of him. A greater depth of him. I wanted more. I needed more, but I couldn't seem to find my way.
LATE ONE EVENING, I was closing my day reading a bit of Proverbs when a thought came to my mind. What if he was right here in the room with me? Enter, stage right, Jesus. There, in my imagination, he entered the room standing before me.
Now that he’s here, I thought, what would I ask him? What would I do? There was an overwhelming desire to give him the biggest, most kindly hug possible, followed closely by kneeling before him in total respect. A friend and the King! It was surreal. One moment, this total emotion of trust and love followed by majesty, respect, and honor.
My words began to flow in thanksgiving for the burden of carrying the world's sin upon his life and never once backing down. Never turning in shame, anger, or disgust at all that had gone before and all that would transpire in the future.
MY SPIRIT AWOKE to who he was and what he had done. Still my friend, always. The King of the universe, forever.
What I love about holy imagination is the ability to activate it at any time, anywhere. Please remember, this is not about the imagination. It's about him. If the focus ever becomes imagination, then my journey will once again become a reversed hierarchy, and I'll find myself putting the cart before the horse.

The voiceover option took this to a new level! Loved it!
We are learning a great deal about the spirit and actuality of God and his son Jesus. We changed denominations to a church that doesn’t align to any. We again are learning new things. I know Jesus isn’t coming to me in my imagination. He is a true living being who is showing himself to me. Our whole world is deepening in him and his teachings. Again God is showing himself further into his truth. Not showing just a man that saved us but but his actual self. When you just grasp a touch of God, you delve more. I think that in this segment Jesus didn’t just come in your imagination, but his full glory and in truth. How amazing of his wondrous works.
