I want to introduce you to Russell Brand (links to his social media are below). This information might seem foolish to many who have followed Mr. Brand's journey to Christ or his various social media links before becoming a Christian. He doesn't need my help connecting people to him, but I enjoy connecting people with people and people to purpose. That's all I needed.
Now a full-on Christ lover, follower, and advocate of the Kingdom of God, Mr. Brand speaks of his faith in God and his journey. There were signs on and off over the past year or two as he talked about a change in his life—the challenges he was facing internally and spiritually. I love this and suggest you check him out as well. That's what I do, right? Connect the dots.
What can we do to support Russell Brand on his journey?
Yet, I want to remind those looking for an earthly savior not to place undue pressure on Mr. Brand to be further along in his walk with Christ than he is. Let us not put unnecessary strain on him to perform or have a deep spiritual insight beyond where the Father has him today. Yes, let's listen and respond, but be kind and generous in spirit and bear with him as he grows in love, understanding, revelation, and insight of Jesus. Let's pray for the enlightenment of his spiritual eyes so he doesn't get caught in the trap that has laid to rest the faith of celebrities in the past who have been prodded by the body of Christ to be the spokesperson, the shining light for God's kingdom on earth-long before they were ready. Mr. Brand is new to his faith, although he's way ahead, as it seems evident in listening that he has poured himself into his faith and learning. But life in Christ is more than learning a lesson about faith. It takes time spent in solitude with Jesus to build a deep relationship.
In May of 2023, we were in England and met a young woman who had recently stepped into her journey with Jesus. The level of her faith far exceeded where I expected it to be in the time she had walked it out. This may be part of what is coming as tens of millions start their journey to God in the coming years. Mr. Brand is showing these same signs. His faith and maturity seem to far exceed his time on the journey. Yet, he and this young woman need to be cared for, not demanded, especially regarding celebrity. The body of Christ has yet to have the best record in bringing young kingdom explorers further into their walk with Christ. We've been more interested in using their celebrity to expand our need to make Jesus legit. Let's not do that! Let's give him the space to grow, put Jesus in his proper place, and let Mr. Brand explores his faith without that unneeded stress.
I will say, please stop by your favorite social media platform and listen to him, then ask yourself...
What can we do to support Russell Brand on his journey?
Let's unite in prayer as Paul prayed for the Ephesians, and we pray for Mr. Brand and those freshly stepping onto this amazing kingdom ship who are journeying deeper into Jesus.
PRAYER:
Father, we are incredibly thankful for Russell Brand and his journey with Jesus. We give thanks for him while making mention of him in our prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give him a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of Russell's heart may be enlightened, so that he will know what is the hope of His (Jesus') calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the boundless greatness of His power towards Russell who believes.
